About Dr Zurek

Dr Longin ZurekDr Zurek has over forty years experience in medicine and surgery in Australia. In the 1970's he completed five years of surgical training in Sydney teaching hospitals and passed Part 1 Fellowship examination of Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 1975. Subsequently, he has worked in private practice developing a special interest in skin cancer and cosmetic surgery. Since 1995 he has been practicing exclusively in the field of Cosmetic Surgery. Dr Zurek has completed numerous training courses in all areas of cosmetic surgery in USA, Europe, South America, Asia and Australia.

Dr Zurek is a Founding Fellow of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery and served as a Member of Council and an Examiner as well as a Preceptor for the ACCS Registrar Training Programme.

Dr Zurek is the first Australian Cosmetic Surgeon certified by the International Board of Cosmetic Surgery following successful completion of examination, held in Lisbon, Portugal in September 2004.

Dr Zurek has been appointed Preceptor of the International Programme of Post Graduate Specialisation in Cosmetic Surgery, New Bulgarian University, Sofia, Bulgaria.

Dr Zurek has been elected President of the Australian chapter of Asia Pacific Academy of Cosmetic Medicine.

Dr Zurek introduced the concept of minimally invasive facial cosmetic surgery to Australia and performed the first S-Lift face lift procedure in 1998. He subsequently developed his own modifications of facelifting techniques which he widely reported in Australia and overseas. Dr Zurek named this facelift procedure SAFE (S-Access Facial Elevation) ™.

He also developed a face lift procedure without incision, which he trade marked Anti Gravity/Elevation Filament™ AGE Filament Lift ™

Following training in female genital surgery in Europe and Asia, he refined the technique of Labiaplasty.

In recent years he has focused on techniques of volumetric facial rejuvenation by microfat grafting and currently is accumulating evidence of the dynamic and regenerative nature of grafted autologous fat.
